About

Jennifer Carrier, MSN, FNP-C, CLC

I am a mother, family nurse practitioner, and certified lactation counselor. I have over a decade of healthcare experience, including six years working in family practice caring for moms and babies. I feel honored to be able to offer a service that is not only much needed in the community, but also fills my passion for creating a safe space for moms and babies to thrive. I provide evidence-based education, support, and guidance tailored to your specific needs from the prenatal period through the fourth trimester and on into toddlerhood.

My Why

Have you ever noticed how everyone raves about breastfeeding before your baby is born, but that after your baby arrives there is minimal support to assist you in reaching your goals? Or how so many people talk about how natural breastfeeding is, but not many are discussing that just because something is natural doesn’t mean it is intuitive?

That is why I offer in home and virtual lactation consults. So we can begin to close the gap between well intentioned recommendations and the realities of motherhood.

As a breastfeeding mother I understand the struggles and the joys of parenting and I know how much stress and anxiety can come with feeding your baby. As a nurse practitioner I understand the intricacies of taking a thorough medical history and performing a detailed physical assessment. As a nurse, I will support you, and as a lactation counselor, I will guide you through any breastfeeding challenges that may arise.

Together we can work toward making your breastfeeding journey work for you. If, for any number of reasons, your journey isn’t going the way you want it to, we can discuss a realistic path forward. We will work as a team and your goals and preferences will be at the forefront of all we do.

It is never too early or too late to seek the advice and support of a lactation counselor. I look forward to working alongside you on your feeding journey.
